Check-in

  • Check in is Saturday, August 2nd (4-8:30pm) at the AAA Auto Club at Pike Lake. To get to the Auto Club, take HWY 53 north, 6 miles past Duluth. Take a right on Midway Road. The Auto Club is one mile up, on your left.
  • If you absolutely cannot make the Saturday packet pick-up, you can pick up your packet on Sunday. NOTE: It is very stressful for you, the athlete, to wait in line for your packet on Sunday morning. Do your best to pick-up your packet on Saturday. We expect registration to hit capacity and close early, eliminating day-before registration.
  • We are a USAT sanctioned event. USAT charges $10 per athlete for membership/insurance. If you are a USAT member, you will not be assessed their fee.
  • YOU MUST SIGN THE WAIVER AND SHOW YOUR IDENTIFICATION TO RECEIVE A PACKET. That means that you can't have someone else pick up your packet for you.
  • Body marking for all racers will begin at 6:30am near the registration building. We will mark your number on your arm and on your leg. Your age group letter will be written on your calf. Your wave number will be written on your hand. Please allow enough time to take care of this.
  • Pre-Race meeting will take place at 8:10am at the emcee booth located at the finish line. All athletes are required to be at this meeting.

        * *Note* We have added a "Short Course Relaxed Wave" for those who want a more relaxed start and may need a bit more time in the water. This wave leaves last. You still must have open water swimming skills and the fitness to swim the distance. We do not offer this wave for the long course. If you feel your swimming skills are not good enough to swim the long course, we will change you to the short course. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE 700 ATHLETES SWIMMING AND OUR LIFEGUARDS NEED TO WATCH ALL OF THEM. If the lifeguard feels you are unable to finish the swim, they will pull you from the water and bring you to safety. The lifeguards and rescue squad are the final authority on this decision.

Timing

  • We use pickleevents.com chip timing. Secure the Velcro strap tightly on your LEFT ankle for the entire race. YOU MUST RETURN THE CHIP AT THE FINISH LINE OR YOU WILL BE ASSESSED A $30 FEE BY PICKLE EVENTS.
